Australia records 25 holidays in 2025. 7 are nationwide public holidays and 18 apply only in certain regions. Not one public holiday lands on a weekend in 2025 — every single one falls on a working day. Christmas Day (25 Dec 2025) sits on a Tuesday or Thursday, so booking the Friday turns it into a four-day break. The busiest month is Apr, with 3 of them. The longest run without one is 244 days, between 25 Apr 2025 and 25 Dec 2025. The last was Boxing Day on 26 Dec 2025.
