Germany records 20 holidays in 2028. 9 are nationwide public holidays and 11 apply only in certain regions. Neujahr (1 Jan 2028) falls on a weekend in 2028, so it hands back no extra day off. Christi Himmelfahrt (25 May 2028), Tag der Deutschen Einheit (3 Oct 2028) and Zweiter Weihnachtstag (26 Dec 2028) sit on a Tuesday or Thursday: book the Mondays and Fridays and each becomes a four-day break. The busiest month is Apr, with 2 of them. The longest run without one is 120 days, between 5 Jun 2028 and 3 Oct 2028. The year opens with Neujahr on 1 Jan 2028 and closes with Zweiter Weihnachtstag on 26 Dec 2028.
