Bridge day check
Falls on a Thursday. Book the Friday off and you get a four-day weekend — the classic bridge day.
Book off 5 Jun 2026 for 4 days off.
What the day is for
Fronleichnam is a holiday only in the Catholic states — Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse, Saarland and parts of Saxony and Thuringia. Processions with flower carpets are the main sight.
Do shops and banks close?
Closed in observing states; a completely normal working day elsewhere, including Berlin and Hamburg.
Getting around
Normal services in non-observing states, Sunday service where it is a holiday.
When it falls each year
Floating holidays shift; fixed ones move only in which weekday they land on.
