Bridge day check
Falls on a Thursday. Book the Friday off and you get a four-day weekend — the classic bridge day.
Book off 5 Jun 2026 for 4 days off.
What the day is for
Fronleichnam brings processions through towns and, on the lakes of Salzkammergut, boat processions that draw crowds.
Do shops and banks close?
Banks and shops closed; the Friday is a very widely taken bridge day.
Getting around
Sunday services; village roads close for processions.
When it falls each year
Floating holidays shift; fixed ones move only in which weekday they land on.
