Every weekday of 2026 minus the nationwide public holidays that land on one. Holidays falling on a Saturday or Sunday are not counted, because in most countries they are simply lost.

How we count this
We start with every Monday-to-Friday date in 2026 and subtract each nationwide public holiday in Austria that lands on one of those days. Saturdays and Sundays are never counted as working days.
5 holidays (including Ostersonntag, Pfingstsonntag and Maria Himmelfahrt) fall on a weekend this year, so they don't reduce the total. Where the government moves a holiday to a weekday, that substitute day appears in the data and is subtracted.
We don't subtract the 5 regional or local holidays, bank-only days or company shutdowns, because they don't apply to the whole country. July has the most working days (23) and May the fewest (18).
