Ramadan brings legally shortened working hours in the public sector and earlier closing across much of the private sector. Eid al-Adha closes business for two days and often longer in practice.
Throne Day fills cities with portraits and lights. During Ramadan, many restaurants outside tourist areas close during daylight and reopen at sunset.
Islamic dates are confirmed by moon sighting a day or two ahead, so schools and offices announce closures at very short notice.
Observance, business closures and transport impact for the next few dates.
