Alla helgons dag
All Saints' Day
Saturday, 31 Oct 2026 · Sweden · Nationwide · Public holiday
Bridge day check
Falls on the weekend, so it costs most people no leave — and in many countries no day is given back.
What the day is for
Marked on the Saturday between 31 October and 6 November with candles laid on graves — one of the most visually striking evenings of the Swedish year.
Do shops and banks close?
Shops open; the preceding Friday is a de facto half day in many workplaces.
Getting around
Normal services with extra runs to cemeteries at dusk.
When it falls each year
Floating holidays shift; fixed ones move only in which weekday they land on.
