Norway keeps ten public holidays with a heavy Easter concentration — Maundy Thursday through Easter Monday is five consecutive days — plus Constitution Day on 17 May.
Påskeferie is effectively a national week off; many firms close entirely and the mountains fill. Bridging around Ascension Thursday is standard.
Closure is thorough on holidays — shops, alcohol sales and many restaurants. 17 May brings parades in every town and full-day road closures in Oslo.
Statutory leave is 25 working days counted on a six-day week, so effectively four weeks plus a day. Holidays falling on a weekend are not replaced.
Observance, business closures and transport impact for the next few dates.
