Pfingstmontag
Whit Monday
Monday, 25 May 2026 · Germany · Nationwide · Public holiday
Bridge day check
Falls on a Monday, so it makes a three-day weekend with no leave needed.
What the day is for
Pfingstmontag closes the Pentecost weekend and, in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria, opens a two-week school break.
Do shops and banks close?
All shops closed; museums, lakes and beer gardens open.
Getting around
One of the heaviest leisure-travel weekends of the German spring.
When it falls each year
Floating holidays shift; fixed ones move only in which weekday they land on.
