Alla helgons dag
All Saints Day
Saturday, 31 Oct 2026 · Åland Islands · Nationwide · Public holiday
Bridge day check
Falls on the weekend, so it costs most people no leave — and in many countries no day is given back.
What the day is for
Families visit cemeteries with flowers and candles. Quiet and reflective rather than festive.
Do shops and banks close?
Banks and most shops closed in Catholic-majority countries; florists do their busiest day of the year.
Getting around
Extra services to cemeteries; heavy intercity travel over the weekend.
When it falls each year
Floating holidays shift; fixed ones move only in which weekday they land on.
