Vesak Day
Monday, 1 Jun 2026 · Singapore · Nationwide · Public holiday
Bridge day check
Falls on a Monday, so it makes a three-day weekend with no leave needed.
What the day is for
Marks the birth, enlightenment and passing of the Buddha. Temples such as Kong Meng San Phor Kark See open before dawn for bathing-the-Buddha rites, three-step-one-bow processions and free vegetarian meals.
Do shops and banks close?
Public holiday; offices and banks close, retail is normal.
Getting around
Normal services with crowding and parking restrictions around the larger temples.
When it falls each year
Floating holidays shift; fixed ones move only in which weekday they land on.
