How we count this
We start with every Monday-to-Friday date in 2025 and subtract each nationwide public holiday in São Tomé and Príncipe that lands on one of those days. Saturdays and Sundays are never counted as working days.
3 holidays (Dia da Independência, Dia das Forças Armadas and Dia de São Tomé) fall on a weekend this year, so they don't reduce the total. Where the government moves a holiday to a weekday, that substitute day appears in the data and is subtracted.
We don't subtract regional holidays, bank-only days or company shutdowns, because they don't apply to the whole country. July has the most working days (23) and February the fewest (19).
