中秋節翌日
Day following the Mid-Autumn Festival
Saturday, 26 Sep 2026 · Hong Kong · Nationwide · Public holiday
Bridge day check
Falls on the weekend, so it costs most people no leave — and in many countries no day is given back.
What the day is for
The holiday falls the day after the festival, because the festival itself is an evening of lanterns, mooncakes and moon-gazing that runs late. The Tai Hang fire dragon dance and the Victoria Park lantern carnival are the set pieces.
Do shops and banks close?
General holiday; banks and offices close. Bakeries have been selling mooncakes for a month.
Getting around
MTR runs late on festival night; Tai Hang streets close for the dragon dance.
When it falls each year
Floating holidays shift; fixed ones move only in which weekday they land on.
