Easter Monday
Monday, 13 Apr 2026 · Bulgaria · Nationwide · Public holiday
Bridge day check
Falls on a Monday, so it makes a three-day weekend with no leave needed.
What the day is for
Bulgaria follows Orthodox Easter, so the date usually differs from Western Europe. Good Friday through Easter Monday are all public holidays; families crack dyed eggs and bake kozunak.
Do shops and banks close?
A four-day break; banks and offices close throughout, shops trade short hours on Sunday.
Getting around
One of the busiest travel weekends of the year as people head to home towns.
When it falls each year
Floating holidays shift; fixed ones move only in which weekday they land on.
